Backend Coding Patterns Questions

Assess familiarity with common backend resilience and correctness patterns and the ability to implement them cleanly. Topics include rate limiting algorithms such as token bucket retry strategies with exponential backoff and jitter idempotent operation design circuit breaker and bulkhead patterns backpressure handling and deduplication. Candidates should also be able to reason about concurrency control optimistic and pessimistic locking distributed locking strategies and how these patterns affect availability latency and resource usage in production.
