The Role:Ā
As a member of Manulife International Limited (MIL) Hong Kongās Senior Management Team, theĀ incumbent is a highly visible executive who is responsible for leading the companyās InformationĀ Technology execution strategies. The CIO also oversees the Portfolio Management and DeliveryĀ Services function which incorporates Business Analysis and Solution Design and Delivery to helpĀ accelerate the companyās future effectiveness.Ā
Being a strategic business leader, the incumbent will contribute to build MIL as a digital, customer-leader. He/she will contribute through the sharing of best practices as well as leveraging our scale andĀ market-leading position in Hong Kong to become ever more efficient and continuing to increase ourĀ focus on results. The CIO is expected to maintain strong momentum and deliver against our ambitiousĀ transformation agenda, enabling a market-leading customer experience for our customers andĀ improved productivity and tools for our distribution partners. Responsibilities:Ā
1/ Strategic ManagementĀ
⢠Lead and drive the IT strategies and performance of MIL to ensure delivery of an optimum IT modelĀ that supports the organization's strategic aspirations and on-going quality BAU.Ā
⢠As a key role in the management teams of MIL, to give strategic direction to the in-countryĀ operations IT, and delivery teams in the required key technology platforms, implemented andĀ managed to time, budget and quality; and formulate a strategic platform to sustain theĀ organization's future development.Ā
⢠As a key member of the Asia technology Leadership team , leverage on the regional IT strategy andĀ Architecture direction and provide critical thought leadership and co-creation contributions to theĀ senior members of the team. Be a strong in market partner to the Asia Technology function.Ā
2/ Strategy & Planning (Business, Technology and Digitization)Ā
⢠Drive the strategic pillar of Market-leading Digital Customer Engagement to achieve businessĀ growth, profitability, operating targets and maximize shareholder value. Ā Focus on Agile deliveryĀ through the close coordination and collaboration between IT, Project Delivery and OperationsĀ teams.Ā
⢠Lead the continued development of a shared services IT that delivers optimal support services toĀ Hong Kong that utilizes services both currently and in the future.Ā
⢠Direct the development and implementation of Manulife IT strategies to foster digital innovation, ITĀ applications and infrastructure development to continually support business delivery andĀ growth. Ā This would be in close tandem with country executive teams and other regional IT leaders.Ā
⢠Act as a senior member of the strategic project leadership including taking lead in projectĀ management and business transformation role on various strategic projects including corporateĀ restructuring initiatives, regulatory initiatives, business development and risk managementĀ
projects. Ā
3/ Project & Transformation Delivery Ā
Direct relevant local project/ portfolio managers to ensure that management structures andĀ processes are in place to which reflects market-leading best practices.Ā Provide direction, consultancy and support to the business operations and project teams toĀ achieve capability upskill across different business functionsĀ
Oversee the successful delivery of relevant transformation commitment related to:
-Ā Acquisitions and required integration strategies
- IT and business process improvement, service management, cost savingsĀ
- Application transformation requirementsĀ
- Investment cost management and benefits actualizationĀ
Work closely with Hong Kong and regional leadership teams to support world class projectĀ management activities, and ensure the respective programs are delivered to scope, budget andĀ schedule expectationsĀ
Ensure high quality service standards and service efficiency with effective management, reviewingĀ and revising specific business objectives of the CIO teamĀ
4/ Process, Policy and Procedures Ā
⢠Ensure appropriate governance framework of IT is in place within the organization and observed toĀ maintain compliance to the group/ regulator's governanceĀ
⢠Provide Hong Kong and regional management with timely and relevant information withĀ management views on areas of responsibility, including regular management reports on progressĀ against plans and budgets, quality, risks, issues and on key performance indicatorsĀ
⢠Establish contractual servicing where appropriate to allow portfolio delivery to be achieved inĀ alignment with financial budgets and procurement policies Ā Ā Ā
5/ Technology Operations ManagementĀ
⢠Ensure market leading Production Services practices are in place resulting in high levels of systemĀ availability across the application portfolio for the Hong Kong business.Ā
⢠Collaborate closely with Manulifeās internal Infrastructure teams (ETS) to ensure that allĀ infrastructure services are delivered as per expected Service Level Agreements, and to foster aĀ close working partnership between application and infrastructure teamsĀ
Candidate Profile:
⢠Master degree or high ranking bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration orĀ management discipline; with good track record of solid experience in managing ITĀ
⢠Strong integration experience with sizable change programs, particularly across functional and/orĀ geographical areasĀ
⢠Proven experience of multi-vendor relationship and stakeholder managementĀ
⢠Extensive insurance industry knowledge and experience, including functional processes andĀ business practicesĀ
⢠Expert knowledge of change managementĀ
⢠Broad knowledge of IT systems/ software development life-cycle and AgileĀ
⢠Good knowledge of business process and acumenĀ
⢠Good experience in building high-performing teams and uplift of management capabilitiesĀ
⢠Knowledge of Hong Kong statutory/ regulatory regimes as well as challenges and restrictionsĀ
