Job Description:
Parsons is looking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of major sports and entertainment venue developments. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing the planning, design, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, operational readiness, and handover of stadium projects while ensuring compliance with project objectives, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical coordination skills to successfully oversee multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, specialists, and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. The Senior Project Manager will report to the Project Director and play a key role in the day-to-day management and successful delivery of complex stadium developments.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage the day-to-day delivery of stadium and sports venue projects from design through construction and handover.
Support the Project Director in achieving project objectives related to scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk.
Lead multidisciplinary design management activities and coordinate all technical disciplines.
Manage consultants, contractors, specialists, and third-party stakeholders throughout project delivery.
Oversee project planning, scheduling, reporting, and project controls activities.
Monitor design development, procurement, construction progress, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
Coordinate stadium-specific systems and facilities including spectator areas, hospitality suites, VIP facilities, media and broadcast areas, athlete facilities, venue technology systems, and supporting infrastructure.
Manage project budgets, forecasts, change management, and commercial matters.
Identify and mitigate project risks and ensure timely resolution of technical and operational issues.
Ensure compliance with project quality, HSE, sustainability, and governance requirements.
Coordinate approvals, permits, and stakeholder interfaces with relevant authorities and service providers.
Prepare executive reports, project dashboards, and management presentations.
Support operational readiness and venue activation planning to ensure successful handover and event readiness.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or related discipline.
Master's Degree preferred.
PMP certification or equivalent project management accreditation preferred.
Chartered or professionally registered status is desirable.
Minimum 15 years of experience in project management, design management, construction management, or program management.
Minimum 5 years in a Senior Project Manager role on major developments.
Demonstrated experience in the delivery of stadiums, arenas, sports facilities, airports, convention centres, entertainment venues, or other complex public-use infrastructure.
Experience managing multidisciplinary design and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Strong understanding of design management, procurement, construction delivery, testing & commissioning, and handover processes.
Experience coordinating venue operators, specialists, contractors, and authorities.
Solid commercial and contractual management skills, including change management and risk management.
Strong understanding of stadium operational requirements, spectator experience, crowd circulation, hospitality operations, venue technology, media facilities, and event readiness.
Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver projects in demanding and fast-paced environments.
