Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated BMC Firmware Engineer to join our server management firmware development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining BMC firmware for enterprise and data center server platforms, working closely with hardware, BIOS, system validation, and customer teams.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, debug, and maintain BMC firmware for server and data center platforms.
Develop and integrate BMC features based on Redfish, IPMI, MCTP, PLDM, SMBus/I2C, and other server management standards.
Work with OpenBMC / MegaRAC-based BMC firmware and related software components.
Develop and maintain BMC applications, services, drivers, and middleware using C/C++ and Linux.
Analyze and resolve complex BMC firmware issues, including system management, sensor, fan, power, thermal, and platform initialization problems.
Integrate BMC firmware with server hardware, BIOS, CPU, PCIe devices, storage, networking, and other platform components.
Perform firmware bring-up, debugging, performance optimization, and issue root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with hardware, BIOS, validation, and system engineering teams to deliver complete server platforms.
Participate in code reviews, design reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement of firmware development processes.
Support customer issues and provide technical solutions for production and field problems.
Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, and firmware quality improvement.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
3+ years of software or firmware development experience.
Strong programming skills in C/C++.
Solid experience with Linux, including debugging and system-level development.
Experience in BMC, server firmware, embedded systems, or system management software.
Familiarity with Redfish, IPMI, MCTP, PLDM, SMBus/I2C, SPI, UART, or PCIe.
Good understanding of computer architecture and server hardware.
Experience with firmware debugging, log analysis, and root-cause analysis.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with OpenBMC, MegaRAC, or other BMC firmware platforms.
Experience developing or integrating Redfish APIs and services.
Experience with AST2600 / AST2700 or other BMC SoCs.
Experience with D-Bus, Yocto, systemd, U-Boot, Linux kernel, or device drivers.
Experience with MCTP, PLDM, SPDM, PCIe, NC-SI, or SMBus.
Experience with AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA server platforms.
Experience with OCP server specifications and standards.
Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD, automated testing, or other software development tools.
Experience working with hyperscale, cloud, or data center server platforms is a plus.
Experience troubleshooting complex hardware/firmware integration issues is highly desirable.
