Approach (30-minute alignment meeting)

1. Quick setup (3 min)

• Share goal: pick top ~3 findings to turn into work next quarter.
• Display the 15 findings on a board (digital sticky notes).

2. Rapid scoring (15 min)

• Use 3 lightweight axes: Impact, Effort, Confidence. Each scored 1–5.
  • Impact = user value & business outcome (higher is better).

High-level difference

• Journey map: a user-centric timeline of steps a specific persona takes to achieve a goal within your product or service (task-focused, sequential).
• Experience map: broader, system-level view of the end-to-end human experience across contexts, channels and products (exploratory, strategic).

Use cases

Fidelity & data

Concrete scenario

Then produce detailed journey maps for the web signup and mobile activation flows to fix drop-offs and design UI changes — outcome: aligned strategy plus actionable UI improvements.

Overview (goal)
Measure whether the design change improves retention and LTV over long horizons (up to 12 months) and attribute effects to the design, not confounders.

Cohort definitions

• Experiment cohort: users exposed to new design (by rollout date / A/B assignment).
• Control cohort: contemporaneous users with old design (A/B or holdout).

Three common mistakes + remedies

1. Mistake: Overgeneralizing from few interviews.
   Remedy: Triangulate with surveys or analytics; label persona confidence (primary vs. tentative).

2. Mistake: Mixing behaviors and solutions.
   Remedy: Focus on underlying needs/goals first; avoid embedding product features in persona descriptions.
