Executive Influence and Strategic Leadership Questions
Assess the candidates ability to influence senior executives and shape company strategy through persuasion, evidence, and relationship building rather than relying solely on formal authority. This includes telling specific stories about proposing and championing strategic initiatives, securing stakeholder buy in, building coalitions across functions, handling resistance, and ultimately affecting major decisions. Interviewers will look for demonstration of executive presence, strategic thinking, business acumen, clear communication and storytelling, use of data and insights to make a case, mapping and managing stakeholders, negotiation and compromise, timing and sequencing of outreach, and measurable impact on outcomes. Candidates should explain the context, their role and influence levers, the tactics they used to gain support, trade offs and setbacks, and the resulting business or technical outcomes.
