• It directly measures delivered value: students are learning and tutors are earning.
• It correlates with revenue, engagement, and repeat usage—key drivers of marketplace flywheel.
• It's robust early on (less noisy than revenue alone) and scales as supply/demand improve.

Why it aligns with long‑term value:

• Completed hours -> learning outcomes/ satisfaction -> retention -> lifetime value.
• Growth in hours signals healthy matching and monetization, encouraging tutor recruitment and marketing ROI.

Three supporting metrics to track:

1. Conversion to first session: % of new students who book and complete a first paid session (onboarding effectiveness).
