Design: A privacy-by-design pipeline enabling subject access/deletion with minimal disruption.

1. Persistent identifiers: Introduce a canonical user-id mapping layer separate from raw events; store personal identifiers in a secure identity store with pointers to analytic IDs.
2. Logical deletion API: When deletion request arrives, mark user-id as deleted in identity store and insert tombstones; trigger downstream workflows.
3. Event processing: ETL reads identity mapping; on downstream rebuilds, filter or remove events linked to deleted IDs. Maintain versioned materialized views so deletions can be applied incrementally without full rebuilds.
4. Query-time filtering: For ad-hoc datasets, apply deletion filters at query time using join to identity store to avoid immediate full recompute.
5. Lineage & audit: Log all deletion actions, expose status to requesters, and maintain proofs of deletion.

Design: Use a federated learning hybrid with secure aggregation and differential privacy. Data flow: On-device training generates model updates (gradients) privately; local pre-processing and quantization reduce footprint. Trade-offs: balance between personalization speed and privacy budget; choose hyperparameters to fit expected device participation and network constraints.
