About the opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Sales to work in the Cinema Sales Group at Christie. This role is pivotal in driving Christie's presence and cinema revenue in assigned markets, requiring a seasoned salesperson with strategic vision and a deep understanding of the Cinema industry. This role requires a solid understanding of cinema technology, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with cinema equipment resellers and exhibitors

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive cinema sales strategies to drive revenue growth across assigned territories, aligning with company objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key customers, resellers, system integrators, and channel partners to expand business opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key exhibitor clients, understanding their needs to provide tailored solutions.
  • Represent Christie at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements to elevate brand visibility and thought leadership.
  • Lead or support major contract negotiations, ensuring both customer satisfaction and adherence to internal financial and legal guidelines.
  • Track and analyze sales metrics, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet and exceed targets.
  • Continuously improve sales tools, methodologies, and CRM usage to maximize efficiency, visibility, and win rates.

The experience and skills we value:

  • Experience: 10+ years in Senior sales roles within the cinema, AV, or related technology sectors, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets. Strong knowledge of cinema technology is required.
  • Strategic Thinking: Expertise in developing and implementing sales strategies that align with broader business goals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field.
  • Ability to articulate complex strategies, financial data, and technical value propositions clearly to C-level stakeholders.
  • Strong public speaking and storytelling abilities to deliver compelling sales pitches, internal briefings, and keynote presentations.
  • Skilled in high-stakes negotiation with customers, partners, and vendors to secure advantageous deals and partnerships.
  • Capable of writing professional sales proposals, executive summaries, and strategic account plans.
  • Expertise in pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting using customer relationship management (CRM) software (MS-Dynamics).
  • Knowledge of projection technologies, LED video walls, media servers, and content management systems.

  • Understanding product performance nuances, competitive differentiators, and technical selling points is critical and cannot be acquired solely through training.
  • Navigating long sales cycle, aligning technical capabilities with customer pain points, and managing multiple stakeholders (cinema resellers, exhibitors).
  • Deep knowledge of regional dynamics, reseller strengths, and competitive positioning is essential to be successful.
  • Christie’s go-to-market model prioritizes cinema resellers in this region; knowing how to balance direct sales to larger exhibitors and indirect sales to others through real-world practice is essential.
  • Familiarity with Christie’s internal systems (e.g., forecasting tools, CRM platforms, pricing models) and approval workflows is crucial for operational efficiency.
  • Experience with JDE and Amdocs
