If you’re looking for a role where you can continue to make an impression, take the next step at HSBC where your contributions will always be valued.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a GI & Health Actuarial Specialist
In this role you will:
- Deliver actuarial BAU tasks across GI and Health, including IFRS 17 reporting, quarterly reserving, regulatory/statutory reporting, and forecasting/business planning activities under local and Group requirements.
- Prepare, transform, validate and investigate data used for actuarial analysis and financial reporting, ensuring outputs are accurate, well-controlled, and delivered on time.
- Produce and explain reserving/IFRS 17 results, movements, reconciliations, key drivers and sensitivities, with clear commentary suitable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support the setting, review and monitoring of actuarial assumptions (including annual assumption studies and ongoing experience monitoring) for reserving and planning cycles.
- Strengthen governance by maintaining robust documentation, methodologies and audit trails, and by improving controls around data and reporting processes.
- Partner with Business, Reinsurance, Finance and other Actuarial teams to enhance tools, drive automation/process improvements, and embed the actuarial control cycle across GI & Health (linking reserving, reporting and pricing feedback loops)
To be successful you will need:
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in GI and/or Health insurance.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy and control.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to translate technical results into clear messages for a range of stakeholders.
- Proactive, independent self-starter with solid time management, comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and tight reporting deadlines.
- Collaborative and personable, with the ability to build effective working relationships and influence outcomes positively.
