We are seeking an experienced **Azure Databricks Platform Architect** to lead the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise-scale data platform solutions on Azure Databricks and Microsoft Azure.
This role requires a strong combination of strategic architecture capability and hands-on engineering expertise. The successful candidate will take ownership of the Databricks platform, ensuring it is secure, scalable, automated, and aligned with enterprise cloud architecture standards.
## Tasks
* Design and implement enterprise-scale Azure Databricks platform architectures
* Define and govern Databricks workspace structures, cluster policies, and operational workflows
* Lead implementation of Unity Catalog governance models, permissions, lineage, auditability, and external locations
* Establish secure Azure networking patterns including VNet injection, Private Link, and private endpoints
* Implement identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC/ABAC, managed identities, service principals, and Key Vault integrations
* Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD frameworks using Terraform/Bicep with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
* Ensure alignment with Microsoft Well-Architected principles and cloud governance standards
* Drive platform automation, operational maturity, cost governance, and continuous improvement
* Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate architecture decisions into practical implementation guidance
## Requirements
* Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks platform engineering and architecture
* Deep experience designing enterprise Databricks environments, including:
* Workspace architecture
* Cluster governance
* Jobs and Workflows orchestration
* Platform operations and scalability
* Advanced knowledge of Unity Catalog governance and security models
* Strong Azure security and identity management expertise
* Experience with secure cloud networking patterns for enterprise data platforms
* Solid Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD experience using Terraform or Bicep
* Strong understanding of enterprise cloud governance and operational best practices
* Ability to operate independently in consulting or fast-paced delivery environments
