General Purpose:
Testing and evaluating of products/parts according to test procedures
Shift(s) Available:
- 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Tests Product according to test plans
- Orders ammunition types and quantities determined for testing from Warehouse
- Uses a variety of test equipment to examine firearm parts for wear and damage
- Communicates test results and findings to T&E Coordinator
- Indicates possible issues on components
- Enters Test data in database, creates test- and measuring reports
- Uses sophisticated measuring equipment to measure and inspect firearms and components
- Performs motion analysis of firearms using high-speed camera and tracking software
- Investigates and documents malfunctions and failures on prototypes as well as current production pistols/parts
- Performs ammunition inspection including pressure, velocity, accuracy (internal- and external ballistic, gelatin tests)
- Services and maintains test- and measurement equipment within the department
- Uses company vehicle to drive to off-site shooting range
- Supports compliance with legal- and company ordinances
- Supports compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection regulatory
- Keeps his/her standard of knowledge up-to-date

Education and/or Experience:
High school Diploma or G.E.D. |
Demonstrated competency in safe firearms handling |
Hands-on metalworking skills: turning, milling, welding, use of hand tools |
Working knowledge of the metric system and ability to read blueprints |
Must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times |
Ability to work independently and as part of a team |
R&D or Production Background with advanced knowledge of firearms function |
Excellent technical and mechanical understanding with working knowledge in manufacturing of firearms and troubleshooting |

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (in particular Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint). |
Knowledge of Interior and Exterior Ballistics and ammunition assembly |
Licenses and Certifications:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to lift and carry boxes up to 30 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use fingers and hands to load magazines and, while holding arms horizontally extended for long periods, test fire firearms and absorb recoil. He is also required to sit on a chair or stool at a desk, write reports on a computer using standard data entry methods (keyboard, mouse) and take notes using a pen or pencil on paper.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to filtered, humidity and temperature controlled air between 65ºF and 85ºF, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and sometimes outside weather conditions, which can include sunshine, rain, sleet and snow, high or low temperature and humidity. On occasion work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. The noise level in the work environment is, depending on area, very quiet (office) or loud (shooting range).
