QUALITY ENGINEER

 

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Engineer to support product and process quality across manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining quality standards, investigating non-conformances and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer will collaborate cross-functionally to improve product reliability, regulatory compliance, and overall customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes, procedures, and standards
  • Monitor manufacturing and production processes to ensure compliance with established quality requirements
  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure quality compliance
  • Perform internal quality audits and support external/customer audits
  • Analyze quality data and prepare reports related to trends, defects, scrap, and process performance
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologies
  • Create and maintain quality documentation, including inspection procedures, control plans, and work instructions
  • Manage environmental and regulatory compliance reporting activities, including Air Permit compliance, KERC Tier II reporting, Form R reporting, and wastewater compliance
  • Administer and maintain the internal calibration system to meet audit requirements from organizations such as UL, ETL, and TÜV SÜD
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance within a manufacturing or related environment preferred
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies and tools, including 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis techniques and quality improvement tools
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and related documentation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and support multiple shifts as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Familiarity with SPC, PPAP, APQP, and MSA processes
  • Experience within manufacturing or other industrial production environments
