Job Summary

The Manager, Operational & Promotional Support (O&PS) leads a team delivering high-quality marketing support for Columbia Association’s business units. This role ensures core marketing needs—like website maintenance, signage, collateral, photography, and in-facility promotions—are met, while supporting wider organizational goals in participation, visibility, and community engagement. Overseeing specialists in web management, design, and marketing, the O&PS Manager also drives collaboration between Marketing and business units to strengthen partnerships and identify promotional opportunities.

This position requires strong people management process leadership, and strategic relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate demonstrates good judgment, a service mindset, and can link program needs to broader organizational objectives.

Essential Duties

Team & Process Leadership

  • Oversee and coach the O&PS team, managing project requests and workflow to meet marketing standards.
  • Streamline request systems for greater transparency and collaboration.
  • Monitor quality control and workload balance

Cross Departmental Collaboration

  • Act as main contact between Marketing and CA’s business units.
  • Build effective partnerships by understanding unit needs.
  • Coordinate with Strategic Marketing to align promotional work with organizational goals.
  • Maintain a consultative, brand-focused approach

Strategic Promotional Support

  • Launch initiatives to boost program awareness and engagement.
  • Evaluate marketing requests against strategic objectives, suggesting impactful solutions.
  • Collaborate on integrating unit marketing across all channels.
  • Use data to guide ongoing strategy improvements.

Organizational Contribution

  • Connect service delivery to marketing results.
  • Promote teamwork and creative problem-solving.
  • Support continuous improvement of the marketing model for greater member and community value.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor relationships.
  • Assist with internal communications and documentation.
  • Join cross-functional projects to enhance integration and performance.
  • Represent Marketing in meetings and presentations.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Skills & Capabilities

  • Leadership and process management in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Ability to collaborate while balancing service and strategy
  • Sound judgment for assessing needs and recommending solutions
  • Workflow organization, deadline management, priority setting
  • Marketing operations knowledge (signage, collateral, web content, vendors)
  • Clear communication skills for complex topics
  • Data-driven decision-making and reporting

Preferred Experience

  • 6–10 years in marketing operations, client service, or communications
  • Supervisory background preferred
  • Experience with internal service and external brand marketing
  • Community, recreation, or membership organizations experience is a plus

Education

Skills and outcomes are prioritized over formal education. Candidates should show:

  • Team leadership and end-to-end project management
  • Basic marketing and communications understanding
  • Strong collaboration and strategic alignment abilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Office-based work with local travel as needed.
  • May require standing, lifting up to 25 lbs., and some evening or weekend event support.

The salary range for this position is $95K to $105K. The actual salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and the budgeted amount for the role.
