Job Summary
The Patient Experience Specialist is responsible for patient registration and front desk operations within the South Central General Surgery clinic. This role includes obtaining completed registration forms, verifying insurance, collecting copays/coinsurance, and interacting with patients and the public both in person and via phone to support a positive patient experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Register patients accurately and timely; Verify insurance coverage; Collect copays and coinsurance; Scan documents into patient charts; Answer clinic phone calls; Become familiar with worker’s compensation and VA referrals; Schedule patients according to provider templates; Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to type at least 30 words per minute; Ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication; Basic computer skills.
Equipment & Responsibilities
Responsible for use of computers, scanners, credit card machines, printers, copiers, paper/forms, and handling of money received from patients.
