Position Description:

Thayer is seeking an IT Support Technician to configure, triage, and support desktop and mobile deployments.

IT Technician Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with computers, laptops, tablets, and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.)
• Check computer hardware (mouses, keyboards, etc.) to ensure functionality
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
• Coordinate in house network needs with 3rd party network management vendor
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without interrupting others from completing their work
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
• Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages
• Keep detailed records of our network’s configurations, peripheral specifications, problems, solutions, and more

IT Technician Requirements:

• High school diploma.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong customer service skills.

IT Technician Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field
