Rate: 67-72k (starting salary depends on qualifications, experience, etc.)

Timeframe: Full-time, year-round. Must be available to work, weekends, and Holidays as needed.

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking an experience Catering Sales Manager to develop, promote, and manage the clubs’ private banquets, business and social events, and other member-related events and activities. This position will oversee all administrative aspects of preparing and holding special events at Medinah Country Club. This position will communicate and work with all departments to ensure that the member/hosts’ special needs and expectations are exceeded.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Member Relations
    • Serve as the primary contact for members seeking to host events at Medinah Country Club.
    • Respond promptly to event inquiries and conduct venue tours as needed.
    • Develop strong relationships with members and maintain a high level of personalized service.
    • Promote club event spaces and services to maximize event bookings and revenue.

  • Event Planning & Coordination
    • Meet with members and clients to determine event objectives, budgets, timelines, and special requirements.
    • Prepare event proposals, contracts, Banquet Event Orders, and related documentation.
    • Coordinate all event details, including room setups, menus, audiovisual needs, décor, entertainment, and timelines.
    • Communicate event requirements effectively to culinary, banquet, and operations teams.
    • Oversee event execution and address any issues that arise to ensure member satisfaction.

  • Team Collaboration
    • Partner with the Executive Chef, Banquet Manager, and other Club departments to execute on events.
    • Collaborate and communicated across departmental lines in a supportive and team-oriented manner.
    • Contribute consistently to the club’s One Team philosophy.
    • Support the Club’s overall hospitality and service standards.
    • Participate in Club events and member engagement activities as needed.

  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Maintain accurate event records, contracts, deposits, and billing information.
    • Prepare reports on sales activity, bookings, and event performance.
    • Ensure compliance with the Club policies and procedures.
    • Utilize event management software to manage bookings and client communications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of catering sales, event planning, hospitality, country club, or private club experience preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, standards, and procedures.
