Role Overview

This is a compliance‑led role with AML/CFT forming an important but clearly defined part of a broader compliance remit. It is well suited to candidates with experience in corporate services, trust or fiduciary environments who want to grow as well‑rounded compliance professionals.

The role reports to the Head of Compliance and works closely with both the Compliance and AML/CFT teams.

Role Purpose

The Compliance Support Officer supports the Compliance Function to ensure the Group meets all regulatory, legal and internal requirements. The role focuses mainly on general regulatory compliance, governance, monitoring and reporting, with additional support for AML/CFT activities alongside the MLRO.

Key Responsibilities

General Compliance

• Support compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including CSP and trustee legislation, MFSA rules and data protection requirements
• Assist with compliance monitoring activities, such as reviews, file testing and control assessments
• Review client onboarding and acceptance from a regulatory and governance perspective
• Support ongoing reviews of clients, structures and trusts to ensure continued compliance
• Help prepare Board and management compliance reports and track findings and actions
• Maintain compliance registers, logs and records
• Monitor regulatory developments and escalate relevant updates
• Assist with maintaining and updating compliance policies, procedures and controls
• Provide compliance guidance to operational teams, escalating issues when needed

AML/CFT Support

• Review AML/CFT onboarding and monitoring documentation (CDD, risk assessments, source of wealth/funds)
• Assist with AML/CFT control testing and follow‑up actions
• Help maintain AML/CFT records and reports with the MLRO
• Support AML/CFT training and awareness activities

Requirements

• At least 2 years' experience in a compliance, regulatory or governance role, ideally within corporate services, trust or fiduciary environments
• AML/CFT exposure is required, but the role is not suitable for candidates with only AML‑focused experience
• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks for CSPs/trustees and AML/CFT obligations
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently within a structured compliance function, with sound judgement on escalation and regulatory accountability
