What is the opportunity?
Royal Bank of Canada Insurance Company Ltd. (“RBCICL”) has a vacancy for an Actuary – Longevity Reinsurance Pricing. The Actuary – Longevity Reinsurance Pricing will be the lead Pricing Actuary and Develop the Pricing Team for the Longevity Reinsurance Product Line and continue to grow RBCICL’s Longevity Reinsurance Presence and Develop Client Relationships.
This position is located in Grand Cayman.
What will you do?
- Provide leadership and accountability on pricing and negotiation of Longevity Reinsurance quotation and meeting RBCICL profitability standards
- Liaise and build relationship with International clients to source new opportunities and produce win-win solutions
- Monitor industry marketing information to keep a pulse on target markets for future new business opportunities
- To strategically review and identify key areas of focus with regards to Longevity Reinsurance Transactions with the purpose to recommend to RBCICL management market focus, pricing assumptions changes/updates and profitability level to changing market and regulatory environment
- Transform, design and execute analysis with respect to longevity assumption, mortality projection, data analytics and actuarial financial review on quote specific Transactions, as well as foreseeing development and research of new market strategy or products
- Design and execute business experience, products and strategies as it relates to the Longevity Reinsurance product line
- Be an advocate and expert of Longevity Reinsurance within RBC and externally
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Bachelors in Actuarial Science and Fellow of the Society of Actuaries/Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries
- At least 10 years of experience in Pricing and negotiation of longevity reinsurance transactions
- Strong external relationships in the Longevity Reinsurance Industry
- Exposure to regular contact with senior management
- Able to manage a staff of actuaries
- Proven track record in delivering results
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Axis and Datalink, and other actuarial related software
