Job Description – Senior Delivery Manager (SAP)Role OverviewThe Senior Delivery Manager (SAP) is responsible for end-to-end delivery of SAP programs, ensuring high-quality execution, stakeholder alignment, and business value realisation across implementations, rollouts, and AMS engagements.This role will lead large-scale SAP transformations (e.g., S/4HANA), drive governance, optimise delivery performance, and manage cross-functional teams across global locations.
Key Responsibilities1. Delivery Leadership & Program Management Own end-to-end delivery of SAP programs (S/4HANA, ECC, RISE with SAP, AMS, Rollouts, Trade Management)Drive delivery across Plan → Build → Test → Deploy → Hypercare → Support lifecycleEnsure adherence to timelines, budget, and quality KPIsLead multi-track programs (Finance, SCM, HR, CX, Integration)2. Stakeholder & Client ManagementAct as the primary interface for customer leadership (IT + Business stakeholders)Drive governance forums (SteerCo, Program Reviews, Executive updates)Ensure customer satisfaction, value realisation, and strategic alignment3. SAP Delivery GovernanceEstablish strong governance using:Delivery metrics (velocity, defect leakage, release predictability)Risk & issue management frameworksFinancial tracking (revenue, margin, forecasting)Drive standardisation across projects and COE frameworks4. Transformation & Continuous ImprovementLead SAP transformation initiatives (S/4HANA migration, digitisation, automation)Identify opportunities for:Test optimisation & automation (aligned with QA CoE models)AI/GenAI adoption in SAP deliveryCost optimisation and productivity improvement5. Team & Resource ManagementManage large, distributed delivery teams (Functional, Technical, Basis, Testing, Integration)Own:Resource planning & utilisationCapability building (SAP skills, certifications)Performance management of delivery leads and managers6. Risk, Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure adherence to:Security and compliance standardsAudit and regulatory requirementsProactively manage delivery risks and implement mitigation plans7. Financial & Commercial OwnershipOwn P&L for SAP engagementsDrive margin improvement through:Productivity leversOffshore optimisationAutomation and reusable assets
Required Skills & ExperienceCore Experience15–20+ years of IT experience with 10+ years in SAP program deliveryProven experience managing large SAP transformations (S/4HANA preferred)Experience across Implementation, Rollouts, and AMS engagementsSAP ExpertiseStrong understanding of SAP modules such as:FICO, MM, SD, PP, EWM, SCM, CX, Trade Management, FinanceExposure to:SAP S/4HANA migration approachesSAP Activate / Agile / Hybrid methodologiesIntegration landscape (SAP CPI, APIs)Leadership & Delivery SkillsStrong people leadership and global team managementExpertise in stakeholder engagement at CXO levelStrong governance, risk management, and financial management skillsPreferred CertificationsSAP certifications (S/4HANA or module-specific)Key KPIs / Success MetricsOn-time, on-budget deliveryCustomer satisfaction (CSAT/NPS)Defect leakage and quality benchmarksResource utilisation and margin performanceInnovation and automation adoption
