About Host Company

Our Host Company is a leading provider of comprehensive engineering solutions, specializing in the pharmaceutical, chemical, energy (including power generation, waste-to-energy, and wind farms), and oil & gas industries. Their expertise encompasses project management, conceptual and detailed design, supervision, prefabrication, and installation for process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control (EI&C) systems.

The successful intern would assist with the following duties:

  • Assist in creating and managing schedules for electrical design tasks, including conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and overseeing the commissioning of switch rooms.
  • Participate in client meetings to understand their requirements and gain insight into their needs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain PLC and automation systems for mining clients.
  • Manage two projects from initial planning through to on-site commissioning.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and support for control systems, ensuring smooth operation and resolution of any issues.
  • Complete cabinet wiring, PLC programming, and dry commissioning for various projects, including Lift Control Systems and Manual Pendants for Rake Control Systems.
  • Lead the wiring team during commissioning stages, make necessary wiring changes, and ensure successful handover of machines in operational condition.
  • Order components for projects as required and provide assistance in IO mapping for SCADA and HMI devices.
  • Configure OPC servers and provide technical support to clients, including troubleshooting system faults.
