Join Our Team

We are a growing mid-sized law firm seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support our attorneys and professional staff across multiple practice areas. This is a key role within the organization, offering the opportunity to serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on HR professional in a collaborative, professional services environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and experienced in managing a wide range of HR functions while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.


What You'll Do

Employee Relations & HR Operations

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and workplace matters
  • Advise managers and leadership on performance, employee relations, and disciplinary actions
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and professional development initiatives

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
  • Draft job postings, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews
  • Oversee onboarding processes including offer letters, background checks, and orientation
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning and succession strategies

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Maintain and update HR policies and the employee handbook
  • Support workplace investigations and compliance-related matters
  • Administer leave programs (FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and state-specific leaves)

Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement)
  • Serve as liaison with benefits providers and vendors
  • Assist with payroll processing and audits in collaboration with Finance
  • Coordinate open enrollment and monitor benefits utilization

Performance & Development

  • Coordinate performance review processes
  • Support training initiatives, continuing education (CLE), and staff development
  • Partner with managers on goal setting, coaching, and feedback

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4–7 years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience in a professional services or legal environment preferred
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
