This leading conglomerate is hiring an experienced general commercial lawyer to be based in Hong Kong to handle a range of in-house responsibilities. Reporting to the head of legal, you will:

• Draft and negotiate technology contracts, contracts related to digital services, e-commerce platforms, software licensing, data protection, online advertising, and other agreements necessary for online business operations.
• Advise business units on compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing e-commerce, data protection, intellectual property, and advertising/marketing practices.
• Manage the company's intellectual property rights in the digital and online environment. Conduct trademark searches, file applications, handle intellectual property disputes, and ensure compliance with IP laws.
• Advise the company on data privacy and security practices, including compliance with data protection laws. Develop privacy policies, breach plans and audits to ensure compliance.
• Provide internal training on legal and complaince matters and best practices.
  To qualify, you should have at least 7+ PQE gained in law firms/in-house with strong technology including e-commerce and data protection and intellectual property rights. Commercially savvy, you will be adept at reviewing/drafting and negotiating commercial contracts as well as have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to manage stakeholders of different levels. You must have excellent English written and spoken skills. Chinese is advantageous but is not essential.
