What We're Looking For

We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to support reporting modernization initiatives and enterprise business intelligence solutions for our federal partners. In this role, you will be responsible for migrating legacy reporting assets, developing modern reporting solutions, and ensuring data consistency across multiple enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Lead the migration of existing MicroStrategy reports and dashboards to Power BI.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for reporting, data extraction, validation, and analysis.
• Work with Oracle databases and enterprise data sources to support reporting requirements.
• Validate report outputs and ensure consistency between legacy and newly developed reports.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical staff to gather and refine reporting requirements.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve reporting and data quality issues.
• Optimize Power BI reports for performance, usability, and scalability.
• Support reporting modernization efforts by implementing best practices for business intelligence and data visualization.
• Document reporting solutions, technical designs, and data validation procedures.

Through the successful migration of legacy reporting platforms and the development of innovative Power BI solutions, you will help improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and mission success.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Experience working with Oracle databases and large enterprise data environments.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting reporting and business intelligence solutions.
• Strong experience validating, analyzing, and troubleshooting reporting data.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience working directly with stakeholders to gather and define reporting requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MicroStrategy development, administration, or report migration.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other enterprise database platforms.
• Experience supporting reporting modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience working within federal government environments.
• Knowledge of data governance, reporting standards, and business intelligence best practices.

• Complete onboarding and gain familiarity with reporting environments, enterprise data sources, and existing MicroStrategy reporting assets.
• Meet project stakeholders and understand current reporting modernization objectives.

Day Thirty

• Begin developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Participate in requirements gathering and report validation activities.
• Analyze existing MicroStrategy reports and identify migration priorities.

Day Sixty

• Lead migration efforts for assigned reporting assets.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries supporting reporting and validation efforts.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to refine reporting requirements and improve data quality.

Day Ninety

• Assume ownership of key reporting modernization initiatives.
• Deliver fully validated Power BI reporting solutions.
• Recommend reporting best practices, performance improvements, and modernization strategies.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to reporting governance standards.
