Hristo Popov is looking for a new team member.

Job Purpose:

The Infrastructure & Datacenter Engineer is supporting the end-to-end planning, design, and lifecycle management of hardware and IT infrastructure across A1 Group's datacenters. This supports hardware architecture decisions, capacity planning and reporting, vendor relationships, and network demand integration — and acts as the central intercompany coordination interface across A1 Group OpCos to ensure aligned, group-wide infrastructure development.

Role insights:

  • Oversee and support hardware architectures for A1 Group datacenters, including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment, ensuring alignment with performance, availability, and scalability requirements.
  • Support capacity planning activities across all A1 Group OpCos: collect and consolidate infrastructure demand from business units and service owners, model short- and long-term growth scenarios, and translate forecasts into actionable hardware development plans.
  • Operate a structured capacity reporting framework, produce regular capacity status reports and maintain transparency on infrastructure health across all datacenter sites.
  • Collect datacenter related demands for network infrastructure including core and transport layers withing the datacenter.
  • Support vendor management processes: evaluate and qualify hardware vendors, supporting contracts negotiations and SLAs.
  • Support and maintain comprehensive infrastructure design documentation including asset management processes within the datacenter.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, operations, security, network…) to align infrastructure plans with business objectives and budgets.
  • Drive standardization initiatives to improve deployment efficiency and ensure consistent hardware configurations across sites.
  • Act as the central coordination interface between A1 Group OpCos and CDC for all hardware and datacenter infrastructure topics — align planning cycles, consolidate cross-OpCo requirements and ensure consistent standards and processes are applied across the group.
  • Willingness to travel to A1 Group sites and partner locations within the A1 footprint as required.

What makes you unique:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in datacenter infrastructure engineering, hardware planning, or IT infrastructure architecture.
  • Expertise in working with server hardware platforms, storage systems and hypervisor environments.
  • Proven experience in datacenter capacity planning and demand forecasting across multi-site or multi-country environments, including the ability to model growth scenarios and translate them into investment proposals.
  • Hands-on experience building capacity reporting structures — defining metrics, preparing management-level dashboards or reports, and communicating infrastructure status clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and hardware procurement processes.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills; able to translate complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluent English.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with hybride datacenter infrastructure.
  • Experience working in a large enterprise or telco environment with multi-country infrastructure responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience working within structured change and incident management frameworks.
  • DevOps mindset and experience working in agile or cross-functional delivery teams.

Our gratitude for the job done will be eternal, but we’ll also offer you:

  • Innovative technologies and platforms to work with;
  • Modern working environment for your comfort;
  • Friendly, ambitious, and motivated teammates to support each other;
  • Thousands of online and in-person learning opportunities to grow;
  • Challenging assignments and career development opportunities in multinational environment;
  • Attractive remuneration package;
  • Flexible working schedule and opportunity for home office;
  • Numerous additional goodies, including, but not limited to free A1 services, discounts, health insurance and services, sports center, childcare, team and family events, etc.

If you have any questions,  please do not hesitate to contact Simeon Kostov.
