We’re looking for our next HR Business Partner. Could It Be You?
As an HR Business Partner at Questrade, you will play a pivotal role in aligning People & Culture strategies with business objectives for our high-velocity Client Services organization. Reporting to the Director, P&C, you will provide dedicated partnership to the CCO leadership team, focusing on the seamless execution of employee relations, talent management, and organizational development.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and understands that strategic influence is built upon a foundation of operational excellence. You are a self-directed professional who excels at triaging competing priorities and possesses the technical acumen to navigate complex organizational workflows with precision and agility.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strategic & Tactical Partnership: Serve as the primary HR point of contact for Directors and People Leaders within the CCO group. You will guide leaders through the end-to-end HR lifecycle, ensuring high-fidelity service delivery and adherence to organizational standards.
- Employee Relations & Advocacy: Lead thorough and timely investigations into complex employee relations matters. You will provide expert counsel on policy application, risk mitigation, and conflict resolution, ensuring a fair and consistent experience for all team members.
- Operational Workflow Management: Own the "upstream" integrity of HR processes. This includes managing the workflow for recruitment requisitions (ensuring accuracy and market-competitive compensation alignment) and facilitating organizational change requests by validating data and approval paths.
- Performance & Talent Stewardship: Drive the annual performance management cycle, including goal setting, reviews, and succession planning. You will coach leaders on building a high-performance culture within a metrics-driven environment.
- Process Excellence & Data Integrity: Act as the steward for frontline HR data. While People Operations handles back-end system processing, you are responsible for the accuracy of change forms, compensation logic, and the effective navigation of HRIS workflows.
- Change Management & Project Execution: In collaboration with the P&C Leadership team, execute strategic projects (e.g., compensation plan updates, org design) with a heavy focus on change management, internal communications, and frontline impact analysis.
- Insights & Analytics: Analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, headcount trends) to identify opportunities for improvement and develop proactive, data-informed solutions for your client groups.
- Other duties as assigned, including contributing to strategic HR project work
So are YOU our next HR Business Partner? You are if you have…
Technical Expertise
- Education & Designation: University degree in Human Resources or a related field. CHRP/CHRL designation is highly preferred.
- HR Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of HR principles, practices, and provincial & federal employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, etc.).
- Employee Relations: Proven track record of managing complex investigations and employee relations issues, specifically within high-volume contact center or client-facing environments.
- Specialized Skills: Experience with Job Evaluation is considered a strong asset.
Operational Proficiency
- Systems Acumen: Proficiency in HRIS systems; specific experience with Dayforce (Ceridian) is a significant advantage. Ability to audit data and navigate complex system workflows independently.
- AI & Innovation: Comfortable leveraging modern tools (including AI/Gemini and data visualization platforms) to automate repetitive tasks, reduce cognitive load, and enhance business insights.
- High-Velocity Triage: Demonstrated "Pace IQ"—the ability to manage high-volume inquiries (50+) and competing priorities daily without compromising on quality or accuracy.
Leadership & Communication
- Influence & Advisory: Demonstrated ability to garner trust and provide sound counsel to mid-to-senior level leaders. You are a "Business Owner" who provides options and risk-assessments rather than just procedural compliance.
- Advanced Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex HR concepts into actionable guidance for leaders.
- Facilitation: Strong presentation and group facilitation skills, with experience leading people leader enablement sessions or change management workshops.
Behavioral Competencies
- Navigating Ambiguity: A self-sufficient navigator who drives progress in the absence of perfect information. You leverage available resources and documentation to resolve issues independently.
- Results-Oriented: A proactive, collaborative team player who takes end-to-end accountability for their commitments and thrives under the pressure of a fast-paced environment.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience as an HRBP or Senior Generalist, ideally within a high-growth Sales, Service, or Contact Center environment.
- Proven ability to move fluidly between tactical execution and strategic advisory work.
Compensation Information:
- Base salary range: $90,000 - $110,000
- The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
