POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Market Development Specialist at State Industrial Products, you will play a key role in building and executing effective marketing strategies to support our company’s continued growth. You will research and identify opportunities within targeted market segments, inform market focus strategy, and assist with market testing of new programs and product launches. This role requires some travel to work side-by-side with State’s sales professionals in the field, while also working closely with marketing and product management teams.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support development of market focus strategies and provide input on future product and program offerings
- Collaborate closely with the outside sales team during ride-along days (~30% travel) to gather customer insights and support business development efforts
- Work with marketing and product management teams to align strategies and support go-to-market initiatives
- Play a key role in the development and launch of new products and programs, from market tests to introduction and promotion
- Analyze sales data using business intelligence (BI) tools to generate actionable insights and track performance metrics
- Continuously assess and recommend additional marketing tools, platforms, or capabilities that can support the company's growth and overall marketing strategy
- Assist with other marketing-related projects as requested
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics or related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively across departments
- Willingness and ability to travel (U.S. and Canada) approximately 30% to support field activities with sales teams
- Proficiency or ability to quickly learn data analysis and business intelligence tools such as PowerBI
- High level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn additional similar software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
