The Senior LIMS and Service Delivery manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for the development, administration, support, governance, and continuous improvement of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) landscape across the organization. This role combines technical leadership, operational service delivery, stakeholder engagement, and team management to ensure reliable, scalable, compliant, and efficient LIMS services globally.
This role requires a proactive leader with strong expertise in LIMS platforms, software development, system integration, and IT service management within regulated laboratory environments. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure system reliability and compliance, lead global LIMS initiatives, and build strong partnerships with laboratory, quality, and IT stakeholders.
LIMS strategy, development and configuration
- Develop, configure, and enhance software solutions within the LIMS framework to meet global organizational and laboratory requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, laboratory teams, and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and scalable solutions
- Implement system enhancements, upgrades, and optimizations to improve LIMS functionality, usability, and performance
- Conduct testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and validation activities for configurations, integrations, and system functionality
- Protect, maintain, and govern the global LIMS core template and associated standards
- Challenge the status quo by proposing standardized, scalable, and efficient solutions
System integration and Operational support
- Ensure seamless integration of LIMS with laboratory instruments, enterprise systems, and workflows across multiple global sites
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for LIMS-related issues and operational incidents
- Ensure system reliability, availability, performance, and data integrity through proactive monitoring and maintenance
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical LIMS operational and technical issues
- Coordinate disaster recovery readiness, business continuity planning, and risk mitigation activities related to LIMS services
Service Delivery Management
- Own end-to-end LIMS service delivery across all supported sites, ensuring high levels of system performance, availability, stability, and user satisfaction
- Monitor and report on service level agreements (SLAs), KPIs, and operational metrics for LIMS services
- Lead incident, problem, change, and release management activities
- Coordinate release planning, deployment activities, and change control processes while minimizing operational disruption
- Drive continuous service improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, support processes, system adoption, and user experience
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks, support models, operational procedures, and service documentation
- Conduct regular service reviews with business stakeholders, laboratory leadership, and IT management to review service performance, risks, priorities, and improvement opportunities
- Oversee third-party vendors, implementation partners, and support providers involved in LIMS delivery and support activities
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including FDA, GxP, ISO, and data integrity requirements
- Participate in and support computer system validation (CSV) activities to ensure LIMS compliance and audit readiness
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of configurations, customizations, integrations, processes, and validation records
- Ensure adherence to cybersecurity, data governance, and organizational IT policies and standards
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build, mentor, and lead the LIMS team by providing guidance, coaching, development opportunities, and technical leadership
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented culture within the LIMS team
- Lead technical discussions and provide strategic recommendations for system improvements and operational enhancements
- Partner effectively with laboratory operations, quality assurance, business leaders, vendors, and IT teams to align technology solutions with business objectives
- Manage competing priorities and coordinate cross-functional initiatives in a global environment
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, regulatory expectations, and best practices related to LIMS, laboratory automation, and service delivery
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, optimization, and modernization within the LIMS ecosystem
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for laboratory digitalization and IT transformation initiatives
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant experience in a similar role
- Hands-on experience with LIMS configuration, development, and administration in regulated environments
- Proven experience supporting global LIMS platforms across multiple laboratory sites
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, analytical testing processes, and quality systems
- Experience with SDLC and CSV
- Experience with relational databases, system integrations, and interface troubleshooting
- Proven experience in IT service delivery or service ownership roles (incident, change, release, SLA management)
- Track record of delivering complex LIMS or IT projects in regulated environments
- Experience leading technical teams in a global or multi-site environment
- Strong knowledge of LIMS platforms and configuration principles
- Understanding of ITIL-based service management processes
- Experience with APIs, system integration, and data exchange mechanisms
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
