Description
UI designer
Are you a passionate and professional designer with flair for UI/UX and do you know your way around Unity?
Would you like to help us build fun and engaging social gaming experiences to millions of kids around the world?
Then we would love to hear from you and get you on board as our new UI designer.
About The Job
As a UI designer on one of MovieStarPlanet’s cross-disciplinary game teams your responsibility is to help deliver great User Experiences through clear and intuitive UI.
We are building our games on top of a common platform and all the games share a number of features that are graphically adjusted to fit each game’s look and feel. They are created through our own UI system based on Unity.
So you have to be good at keeping things tidy and follow the guidelines of those shared features, but also - in time - provide feedback to the developers on where and how to improve the shared UI system.
You will be working on an already existing game title, so it’s important that you can tune in on and follow the visual style of a product. Your work will mainly consist of developing game specific features so they match the already established style and make the cross-game features fit the style of the game.
We are developing our games for multiple platforms, so you should be able to think three different layouts (mobile devices, tablets and computer screens) into your designs.
Development at MovieStarPlanet is highly user-centric. We work in short iterative cycles of 2-4 weeks between each release. This enables us to respond quickly and effectively to learnings gained from direct user feedback from our large fan base. So you should be able to scope your work in a way where you can deliver finished material by the end of each release cycle.
In order to be successful you must work closely together with all the brilliant people on the team and across the company towards achieving the company vision of ‘Connecting kids in the best social network of games’: You will work closely together with the team’s creative lead translating his vision into clear and intuitive UI. You will collaborate with our own game team on a daily basis, but also regularly aligning and collaborating with the UI/UX and game designers across the company. You will be reporting to the team’s Product Manager.
About you
You are first and foremost a pragmatic, goal-oriented kind of person, that always asks “how might we achieve this?” rather than saying “this is impossible!”
You love your trade and want to excite the end users through your work.
You’re probably more of a generalist than a UI game artist.
You understand and navigate well in complex systems.
You like to work cross-disciplinary and can communicate with people of different professions than your own.
You are structured and have a realistic sense of your own limitations and capacity, so you can provide the Product Manager and the Creative Lead with the right level of information regarding suggested solutions and estimates for them to be able to make the right product calls.
