The Opportunity
Are you ready to orchestrate the supply networks that make life-saving diagnostics possible? As our Senior Sourcing Manager in Sant Cugat, Spain, you will be a key part of our global sourcing operations. You will lead end-to-end sourcing projects within our diagnostic portfolios, mentor a rising team of Sourcing Managers, and serve as a key advisor to executive leadership. If you thrive on complexity and want to feel a direct impact on the delivery of life-saving diagnostics to patients worldwide, this is where you belong.
To support our rapid growth, we are hiring a cohort of Senior Sourcing Managers who will be aligned to one of two specialized technology teams: Near Patient Care (NPC), Sensors & Cartridges, and External Manufacturing (EM) or Active Diagnostic Ingredients (ADI), Reagents, and Instruments.
Reporting Line: The position directly reports to the Sourcing Lead, and is part of the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE).
Wider team and stakeholders: You will be part of a regional team of Senior Sourcing Managers and Sourcing Managers, managing relationships with other DOP stakeholders (Category, Delivery) as well as external suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Role Type: An Individual Contributor with responsibilities to mentor junior team members.
Impact: You drive global sourcing & contracting excellence, financial value, and compliance across the network footprint. Specifically, you are accountable for:
Performance & Savings: Driving key metrics—including PPV savings, preferred supplier share, and shortened cycle times—to deliver bottom-line value while tracking stakeholder satisfaction.
Sourcing & Analysis: Executing global sourcing activities, standard processes (RfIs, RfQs, RfPs), and NPI benchmarking in close collaboration with Category and New Product Introductions (NPI) managers.
Contract & Document Management: Setting up and reviewing high-complexity contracts (e.g., MSAs) and purchasing documentation, while accurately managing their lifecycle repository and renewals.
Operational Excellence & SME Leadership: Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to simplify workflows, analyze site user requirements for best-value methods, and ensure strict compliance with global policies.
Bottleneck Resolution & CSR: Partnering with support functions like Accounts Payable (AP) to clear supplier-related administrative bottlenecks, while championing supply base CSR initiatives (diversity, sustainability, ethical practices).
Conflict & Exposure: Managing high-stakes conflicts regarding competing project priorities or supplier selections, and delivering high-frequency monthly/quarterly updates to the CoE LT and DPLT.
Who you are
We strive to keep our standards high and look for candidates who can provide direction and mentor colleagues across different locations.
Education: A University degree (Business or Life Sciences preferred) is required; an MBA or equivalent and professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, ISM) are desirable.
Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in sourcing and end-to-end contract management. You have a proven track record of driving procurement projects (e.g., cost-reduction initiatives and value-improvement programs).
Market Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the global supplier landscape and sourcing expertise with deep, hands-on knowledge of complex procurement categories, with hands-on exposure to any of the following categories: Active Diagnostic Ingredients (ADI), Reagents, Biologics & Chemicals, Analytical hardware components (PCBAs), semiconductors and e-components, electromechanical components, sheet metal, IT Hardware (servers, IPCs)), Engineering services (Software development & Hardware engineering), Capex (Tooling & Molds), Logistics (Global Transport & Logistics, incl. air, ocean, road freight, & Warehousing)
AI & Digitalization: Advanced knowledge in AI application and a strong affinity to explore AI-driven solutions broadly, particularly regarding the digital transformation of operations (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0).
Systems & Analytics: Strong proficiency navigating ERP systems (specifically SAP data), Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows, eSourcing/eAuction platforms, and BI tools like Tableau and ThoughtSpot.
Mindset & Soft Skills: Highly analytical problem-solver focused on translating complex business requirements into procurement specifications. Strong communication skills with an expert track record in conflict resolution.
Mentorship & Global Leadership: Proven success managing project teams and mentoring junior colleagues across multiple remote locations, demonstrating high cultural intelligence to maintain cohesion.
