We are seeking a commercially driven Market Data Program Specialist with strong technical expertise to lead the development, commercialization, and structural design of the exchange’s market data offering. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, revenue growth, and market data technology, responsible for building scalable market data structures that support real-time and historical data distribution while maximizing commercial value. 

The successful candidate will shape how market data is packaged, priced, delivered, and consumed by global clients, while working closely with technology teams to design and evolve the underlying market data architecture. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic development , Licensing Framework & Program Governance  

• Collaborate with management to shape the market data strategy in alignment with broader organisational objectives 

• Lead the development, refinement, and maintenance of a complex market data licensing program covering multiple license types, usage scenarios, and delivery formats. 

• Collaborate with Legal to formalise and update program terms & conditions, ensuring clarity, compliance, and enforceability. 

• Collaborate with Commercial to refine commercial structure of the program and development of the commercial business plan for the program 

• Assist in drafting and revising program agreements, data use policies, FAQs, and guidance documents for prospective and active licensees. 

Licensee Management & Operational Support 

• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for licensees throughout the application, evaluation, and approval processes. 

• Manage and update required submission forms, including statements of intended data use, delivery method preferences, and compliance attestations. 

• Collaborate closely with Legal to negotiate terms, usage rights, data restrictions where applicable 

• Coordinate workflows across Legal, Technology and Product teams to ensure timely and accurate evaluation of licensing applications and delivery of connectivity 

Onboarding & Data Delivery 

• Lead end-to-end onboarding for new licensees, including introduction to program requirements, delivery processes, and compliance expectations. 

• Partner with Technology (and Data Engineering) teams to facilitate secure and accurate delivery of licensed datasets and participate in planning for software/infrastructure development in relation to data delivery. 

• Develop onboarding checklists, communication templates, and documentation to improve operational consistency. 

Process Improvement & Reporting 

• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in licensing workflows, proposing and implementing improvements to streamline processing time and accuracy. 

• Maintain internal documentation on licensing rules, data products, delivery pathways, and escalation procedures. 

• Produce regular reports on licensing volume, operational metrics, and compliance activities to support leadership decision-making. 

Partnerships and Market Engagement 

• Work directly with trading firms, banks, commodity producers, data vendors, and fintechs to understand data consumption needs. 

• Identify and form new partnerships aligned with Abaxx data strategy. 

• Support sales and relationship teams with market data product positioning and client onboarding 

• Act as a subject matter expert for clients on market data structure, delivery, and licensing 

• Built and maintained strong, long-term relationships with partners, ensuring clarity of expectations, obligations, and value delivery. 

• Develop partner materials (program overviews, capability summaries, use-case frameworks) to support outreach and engagement. 

Required Qualifications & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related field 

• 5-10 years of experience in market data strategy, product management, or data infrastructure within: 

• Derivatives or securities exchanges 

• Market data vendors or financial data providers 

• Trading venues, clearing houses, or fintech platforms 

• Strong understanding of commodities derivatives markets and exchange data flows 

Technical Skills & Experience 

• Hands-on experience with market data architectures and protocols (e.g., multicast, TCP/IP, low-latency feeds) 

• Familiarity with market data standards, symbology, and schemas 

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, APIs, and data distribution frameworks 

• Ability to translate commercial requirements into technical data models and delivery solutions

• Strong commercial acumen with experience monetizing data products
