We're looking for a Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our remote team at Nebulab. In this role, you'll build and maintain eCommerce applications for international mid-market and enterprise clients, working primarily with Ruby on Rails, Solidus, and modern frontend technologies like React.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the full project lifecycle—from requirements gathering to delivery—while contributing to open-source projects and sharing knowledge with the team.

This position is ideal for experienced Rails developers who are passionate about eCommerce, enjoy consulting work, and want to grow into leadership and mentorship responsibilities.

Responsibilities

First 3 months:

• Onboard and familiarize yourself with our tech stack and ongoing projects
• Start contributing to small tasks and integrate with your team
• Participate in code reviews and pair programming sessions

3-6 months:

• Take on larger project features independently
• Lead technical initiatives on client projects
• Demonstrate impact on project delivery and client satisfaction

6-12 months:

• Fully own major projects from requirements to deployment
• Mentor junior team members through code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Run internal workshops and presentations to elevate team skills
• Contribute to open-source projects and drive improvements in development practices

Requirements

Essential:

• Production-level fullstack experience with Ruby on Rails
• Passion for building high-quality software and eCommerce solutions
• Strong communication skills for working with teammates and clients
• Inclusive, community-driven mindset with eagerness to learn and share knowledge

Nice to have:

• Past consulting or management experience
• Familiarity with the Solidus framework
• Experience with React
• Experience with Shopify Plus and Hydrogen
