Position Summary:
The team is tasked with procuring revenue for Marriott International properties worldwide with new Group and Events business from clients across the EMEA division by supporting the below key tasks. .
In this role, the Sales Coordinator utilizes sales techniques to maximize revenue and build customer loyalty. Team members will be involved in assigned project work for the Account Sales Organization within Europe.
Hours of operation are currently: Monday through Friday 08:00–17:00, No Weekends. (This is subject to change depending on business requirements).
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Preferred
- Fluent command of English both verbal and written as well as one other language preferably: German, Spanish or French
- Ability to identify and act on buying signals and drive to achieve and exceed goals
- Use good judgment and diplomacy with internal and external customers
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to multitask and work in a busy environment
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Proficiency in computer skills (especially MS Office)
- Professional manner and demonstrate self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
- Candidates must be in good standing in terms of attendance and overall work performance to be eligible to apply
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Sales and Service or the CEC, Sales and Marketing, Guest Services, Front Desk or related professional area
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Managing Work, Projects and Policies
- Receiving, analysing and loading new requests for groups/meetings in SFA Web in a timely manner for proper service
- Evaluate, qualify and respond to leads in a professional and timely manner. Majority of communication will be via email, SFA Web and telephone
- Follow-up with hotels to make sure a group meeting offer is submitted and is in SFA Web
- Act as the liaison between the customer and hotel(s) to present rate proposals, maximize or convert potential bookings, and close the sale
- Consistently update and maintain SFA Web figures, status and seller activities
- Be familiar with applicable hotel group offers & loyalty programs to assist in selling hotels
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Marriott International Hotel portfolio and destinations
- Update database and related activities in dedicated sales systems
- Uphold all policies and procedural instructions for systems; Outlook, SFA Web and other systems as applicable
- Assist with reporting on groups business using internal reporting tools
- Correspondence with SFA Web Support Team on regular issues
- Work on any other Groups Segment related projects
- Work towards achieving daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and new lead goals
- Follow up and closure of outstanding Group and Event business leads
- Develop and maintain good relationships to both internal and external customers
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with clients, hotels, project stakeholders and leadership
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned by management to meet business needs
Maintaining Business Goals
- Establish and maintain complete and up-to-date lead response information in SFA Web and alternate information systems
- Assist with the closing of business opportunities to ensure individual and team goals are met
- Generate and organize reports utilizing internal data systems
Demonstrating and Applying Discipline/Functional Knowledge
- Use standard software applications such as MS Office, SFA Web, etc.
- Act decisively to recover from mistakes
- Act independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge
Contributing to Teams
- Achieve collaboration by leveraging relationships and knowledge
- Work effectively in a team-based environment
