Job Summary

The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in our bank's financial management functions. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the finance department, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support the bank's objectives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with the Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS), as well as other regulatory financial reporting requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors to manage the audit process and ensure that recommendations are implemented effectively.
• Implement and enforce robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of all financial information.
• Lead the budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting processes, providing strategic insights to the management team.
• Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
• Ensure timely tax planning and compliance with all tax legislation.
• Maintain a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results.
• Provide leadership and direction to the finance team for daily operation, fostering an environment of professional growth and compliance with internal policies.
• Play a critical role in the banks financial risk management policies.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or relevant field; masters degree or professional qualification (e.g., HKICPA, ACCA, CFA) highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting and financial experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role within the banking sector.
• Proficiency in financial reporting requirements and regulations specific to Hong Kong and international financial institutions.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional leadership qualities and the ability to manage and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Fluent in English and Cantonese, both verbal and written.
• Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of financial systems and software, including proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
