Description

Our client is a national diversified general contractor and one of Nigeria's largest private construction groups. They are now seeking to recruit an amazing 'Accounting Manager' at their premises in Lagos, Nigeria.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Oversees Accounting department.

· Oversees the system of internal controls over accounting functions to minimize risk.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Maintain, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts as necessary.

· Prepare and/or review appropriate ledger entries .

· Ensure all accounting entries are being posted to the appropriate GL account .

· Reconcile sub-ledger ( AR , AP, FA, Inventory) to general ledger account balances

· Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules and run monthly depreciation.

· Routinely audits workflow to assure all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized.

· Reconciling payroll accounts and overseeing the processing of state and federal payroll taxes.

· Maintains the Petty Cash float at HO .

· Ensure that all necessary documents are requested, collected, and compiled.

· Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

· Monitor accountants, and bookkeepers.

· Assist the Group Financial Controller in the monthly and year end closing process.

· Work with the Group Financial Controller to ensure correct and timely reporting at year end and provide required statements and information for the annual audit.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· Report directly to the Group Financial Controller.

Requirements:

· Bachelors degree in accounting.

· Five years or more of accounting experience required.

· Consistent, accurate and pays strict attention to detail

· Excellent supervisory skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

· Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
