Role Overview

As Senior System Architect (m/f/d), you will play a central role in shaping the technical architecture of NACOS Marine’s current and future automation and navigation solutions. You will define, develop, and maintain system architectures and technology roadmaps that enable scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across vessel types and applications.

You will own the overall technical solution design, balancing performance, maintainability, cost, and long-term sustainability, while working closely with international development teams, product management, and other key stakeholders. The role offers significant influence on product direction, architecture decisions, and technology adoption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, update, and maintain system architectures and technology roadmaps across automation, navigation, and integration domains

  • Own overall technical solution design, including selection of technologies, platforms, and tools

  • Design and architect advanced maritime solutions covering automation and navigation systems for multiple vessel segments

  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and sustainability

  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Product Management, Service, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions

  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns

  • Monitor solution performance and drive continuous improvements

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and automation specialists

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Senior-level experience in system architecture and/or software development within OT and industrial automation environments (e.g., maritime, energy, transportation, production)

  • Strong programming background in C++, C#, Python, and/or PowerShell

  • Solid understanding of IT/OT networks, operating systems, PLCs, and database technologies

  • Experience with automation and DevOps-related tools and frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)

  • Knowledge of maritime and classification society requirements

  • Experience with cloud or hybrid integrations and modern deployment models

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, top-down architectural approach

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
