The Role
We're supporting a growing and well-backed business within the renewables and technical building services space in the search for a Technical Manager to lead technical delivery across a regional patch.
This is a key position within the business, acting as the link between design, operations and on-site delivery. You'll take ownership of technical standards, compliance and overall quality across projects, ensuring everything is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
The role will suit someone who is both technically strong and commercially aware, capable of supporting projects from design and DNO application through to installation, commissioning and handover, while also driving improvements across processes and team capability.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the technical lead across the region, ensuring consistency, quality and compliance
Oversee the full project lifecycle, from design through to commissioning and handover
Provide technical escalation support for complex issues and faults
Review and improve installation standards and operational processes
Carry out technical audits, compliance checks and site reviews
Produce and review technical drawings and system designs (CAD, H2X, Open Solar)
Support pre-construction, sales and bid teams with technical input
Deliver technical training and mentoring to engineers and regional teams
Liaise with operations to ensure projects are commercially viable and deliverable
Manage DNO applications and grid connections
Maintain relationships with manufacturers and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with building regulations, industry standards and health & safety
Drive continuous improvement across technical delivery and performance
What They're Looking For
Background within electrical, renewables or M&E environments
Experience in a senior technical or leadership role
Strong understanding of Solar PV, battery storage or related technologies
Experience with system design, specifications and DNO processes
Comfortable working across office, site and client-facing environments
Experience with CAD and design software platforms
Commercial awareness with the ability to support project viability and delivery
