The Role As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a key member of a cross-functional product team, contributing to the development of core services, including customer-facing self-service portals. You will play an important role as we bring an application in-house to align with our suite of existing systems. This will mean taking ownership of the existing technology stack that includes React, .Net (including .Net Core), and Azure Services. Moving forward you will then be key in re-designing the system for a Python and GCP-based eco system, whilst also enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing enhancements that ensure a seamless customer experience. We’re always looking for ways in which AI can improve how we do things as well, so someone who is on board with that is also critical. We are therefore ideally looking for engineers who have experience in both tech stacks, or have experience in either tech stack and want to focus their development on Python and GCP as we move forwards. This role requires someone that can lead from the front with strong engineering fundamentals, a collaborative agile mindset, and a focus on delivering reliable, maintainable solutions that enhance user experience and platform performance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Take ownership of development, from estimation through implementation, testing, and delivery Contribute to solution design and architectural decisions, including technical discovery activities. Design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and refactor complex components (both front and back end). Build secure, scalable, and high-quality services supporting a customer-facing platform. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric solutions. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Review code and provide constructive feedback to peers. Participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Support deployment activities and ensure quality through robust testing practices. Mentor and support other engineers through knowledge sharing and technical guidance. Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, tools, and team processes. To be successful in this role, you should have: Significant experience in either Python and/or .NET (.NET core), with a focus on Python development moving forwards. Strong cloud experience in Azure and/or GCP. Strong experience developing and maintaining cloud-based services and APIs. Some experience with frontend technologies such as React. Some experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Some Experience working with distributed systems and scalable architectures. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex technical challenges. Experience in previous migration projects are an advantage. Strong experience collaborating in cross-functional, Agile teams. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. 7+ years of experience in software engineering roles.
