Join Qantas in our brand-new Product Innovation Centre located in Adelaide to help us ensure consumer needs are met by embedding robust testing strategies and automation practices that uphold software reliability, performance, and security. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you’ll contribute to the delivery of a cabin crew–facing application used during flight, where quality engineering is essential to ensuring a seamless experience in complex, real-world conditions. From offline-first functionality to intermittent connectivity and secure device management, you’ll help shape robust testing strategies that ensure the app performs reliably when it matters most.
You’ll work closely within a cross-functional product team to design, implement and continuously improve test approaches, while contributing to automation and ensuring quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
You’ll have:
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise QA, with strong hands-on experience in mobile application and API testing
- Proven experience testing native mobile apps, ideally on iOS, across the full development lifecycle
- Experience performing both manual testing and contributing to automation efforts where required
- Strong capability in API testing, including validating RESTful services and end-to-end integrations
- Familiarity with tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar for API validation
- Experience testing applications in offline or low-connectivity environments
- Proficiency using Xcode for debugging, log analysis, and basic app investigation
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Understanding of mobile application architecture and backend integrations
- Ability to design and execute test cases, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing
- Strong defect investigation and reporting skills, with attention to detail
- Experience working collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and designers in cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to promote quality best practices and mentor junior QA team members
- Exposure to mobile test automation frameworks is beneficial but not essential
