Position: Site Director Pay Range: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Are you a passionate leader who thrives in youth development and community impact? The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is looking for a dynamic Site Director to lead our before and after school programs. This role plays a key part in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
Position Summary
The Site Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and success of the YMCA’s school-age child care program at an assigned site, such as KIPP Douglass. You will supervise staff, ensure program quality and safety, maintain compliance with licensing requirements, and build strong relationships with families, school partners, and YMCA leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily program operations and ensure a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment
- Supervise, train, and evaluate site staff and support their professional growth
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities aligned with YMCA core values
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and licensing documentation
- Serve as the primary point of contact for families and school personnel
- Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, licensing regulations, and program standards
- Communicate regularly with YMCA leadership and contribute to continuous program improvement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field strongly preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in youth development or child care programs
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
- Knowledge of child care licensing standards and best practices in youth programming
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening
