Reports To: Administrative Director (AD)
Collaborates Closely With: Owner, AD, Social Media Specialist (SMS), Website Designer, Clinical Team and Admin Team.
Employment Type: Part-Time until November 1st, 2026 (review to be completed around November 1, 2026 to determine continued employment
Location and Schedule: Hybrid (regular on-site hours (schedule to be determined), some nights and weekends for events, some remote hours)
Compensation: $24/hour with expected hours between 15-25 hours/week
Position Summary
The Marketing and Events Manager (MEM) cultivates meaningful relationships between New Birth Midwifery and the communities we serve through events, educational programming, social engagement, and outreach initiatives. This role is responsible for planning and executing community-facing experiences that strengthen trust, build visibility, support client and student recruitment, and foster connection to New Birth's mission.
The MEM serves as a bridge between marketing, education, operations, and community engagement efforts. They oversee event logistics, coordinate classes and community nights, support social media planning and execution, and ensure that every public-facing experience reflects New Birth's values of compassionate care, informed choice, equity, and community-centered midwifery.
This role combines organization, creativity, hospitality, and relationship-building to create memorable experiences that deepen community engagement and strengthen New Birth's presence throughout the region.
Core Responsibilities
1. Event Planning & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and execute New Birth community events from concept through completion.
- Manage logistics, timelines, budgets, vendors, supplies, registrations, and event communications.
- Coordinate annual and recurring events including but not limited to:
- Birth Professionals Open Houses
- Staff Retreats
- Client Appreciation Events
- Community Outreach Events
- Tours
- Ensure events reflect New Birth's brand, mission, and values.
- Coordinate event volunteers, staff participation, and event-day operations.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and recommend improvements for future programming.
2. Community Engagement & Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, partners, local businesses, and referral sources.
- Develop opportunities for collaboration and community education.
- Represent New Birth at community events, health fairs, networking opportunities, and outreach activities.
- Identify opportunities to increase visibility and engagement within communities served by New Birth.
- Support recruitment efforts for clients, students, staff and educational programs.
3. Community Nights & Educational Programming
- Coordinate recurring Community Nights and educational gatherings.
- Work with clinical and educational teams to identify topics, speakers, and programming needs.
- Manage registration, attendance tracking, venue preparation, and participant communication.
- Gather participant feedback and monitor program effectiveness.
- Support development and promotion of special workshops and educational series.
4. Class Coordination
- Oversee scheduling and promotion of childbirth education and community classes along with group prenatals and the Infant Feeding Lounge.
- Coordinate instructors, classroom preparation, materials, registration, and participant communications.
- Monitor enrollment and recommend marketing strategies to increase participation.
- Ensure a welcoming, organized experience for participants.
- Maintain class calendars and coordinate updates across all communication channels.
- Grow classes as appropriate for the community including parenting classes.
5. Social Media Oversight & Website Content Planning
- Work with website designer to keep the content fresh and up to date with bios for staff and stats.
- Collaborate with the Social Media Specialist to develop social media content plans that support organizational goals.
- Assist in creating content calendars aligned with events, educational programs, and community initiatives.
- Coordinate collection of photos, testimonials, event highlights, and community stories for digital marketing efforts.
- Monitor event promotion campaigns and support audience engagement related to community programming.
- Ensure social media content accurately reflects New Birth's voice, values, and community presence.
6. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Social Media Specialist (SMS) to align community engagement efforts with broader marketing strategies.
- Coordinate with the Office Assistant to develop promotional materials for events and educational programming.
- Partner with clinical leadership to ensure educational content is accurate and aligned with organizational standards.
- Participate in team meetings and planning sessions.
- Maintain organized records, event calendars, and outreach documentation.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience coordinating events, community programs, educational activities, or outreach initiatives.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience with event registration systems, Google Workspace, and project management tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, nonprofit organizations, education, or community-based services.
- Familiarity with midwifery, birth work, maternal health, or reproductive health.
- Experience with social media planning and content coordination.
- Experience coordinating classes, workshops, or educational programs.
- Knowledge of community engagement and relationship-building strategies.
