About The Role
As part of the product compliance team, you are the single point of contact for questions about obligations and the implementation of legal requirements in your focus areas which is a mix of electrical, packaging, battery, reprography, copyright products and product claims. You are working closely with different internal stakeholders and be responsible for the regular quantity reports to the national authorities or third-party service providers across Europe. You seek continuous improvement in the optimization of the compliance processes and systems.

What You Will Do

  • Keep up to date with legal regulations (e.g. Packaging, WEEE, Battery, Copyright, RoHs, REACH, etc.) of the assortment in the markets our company is doing business (EU and Non-EU) to ensure compliance;
  • Develop regular reports to authorities or service providers for the above-mentioned areas as well as monitor / review the current contracts;
  • Advice on implementation of regulation changes related to product compliance;
  • Work and communicate closely with internal teams (e.g. MDM, Legal, Purchase & Assortment) and external partners/authorities to build and maintain a network of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Maintain and improve product data quality with regard to the environmentally relevant and legal information in conjunction with other stakeholders;
  • Work on continuous improvement of compliance processes, systems and data collection and processes that support our environmental accreditations, e.g. ISO14001;
  • Preparation and conduction of internal training.

Job Qualifications

Required knowledge

  • Higher vocational degree ideally related to Law, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field with 1-3 years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or a similar role
  • Experience with EU regulatory frameworks and reporting
  • Strong knowledge in the areas of product/environmental compliance, risk control and governance, ISO 14000 or equivalent experience;
  • Familiarity with standards, processes and regulations.

Required skills:

  • Strong analytical and regulatory interpretation skills
  • High attention to detail (document review, compliance validation)
  • Ability to translate legal requirements into practical business processes
  • Strong communicator (internal/external)
  • Comfortable with Excel and other Microsoft Programs.
  • Fluent knowledge of English, spoken and written. Knowledge of German and Dutch language would be an advantage;
  • Provide compliance guidance for product launches, marketing claims and online sales
  • Contribute to development of compliance tools, templates, and automation initiatives.
