Come join our Customer Service Team! If you are passionate about customer service and enjoy working with industrial and manufacturing companies to meet their technical product needs, we are the place for you! This is an in-office position with the option of being located at either our Arden Hills or Brooklyn Park location.
What will you be doing?
- Process all incoming orders in a timely manner from receipt of order through verifying product availability, pricing, margin, terms, credit status, order entry, release and order special products.
- Provide professional, timely and efficient assistance to customers to address questions and resolve problems including technical product support, returns, and identification and recommendation of process improvements.
- Assist outside sales representatives, engineering or estimating with quotation process.
- Actively monitor the status of open customer purchase orders; backlogs, expedite and/or reschedule as necessary. Collaborate with other departments and communicate updates to the customer.
- Handle and manage the relationship with key accounts as required.
- Upload customer forecast into power BI.
- Audit EDI orders in the system for accuracy and changes as required.
- Manage customer portals.
- Manage VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) orders.
- Create and maintain customer specific price records in the system.
- Participate in processes and programs aimed at continuous improvement and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What will you need to be successful?
- Business and/or technical degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years business-to-business customer service experience in a distribution or manufacturing setting.
- Experience working with OEM (original equipment manufacturers) customers highly desired.
- Knowledge of fluid power/hydraulics, foam/plastics, and/or die cutting highly desired
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong mechanical and sales aptitude
- Ability to effectively work with multiple internal departments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
