TCM Bank is in Tampa, FL. This is a remote opportunity. If living outside of the area, travel expectations would be at least 4 times (overnight travel) per year. SUMMARY:

TCM Bank’s Internal Auditor provides independent assessments of the bank’s governance, risk management and internal control environment for key stakeholders including the Board of Directors, senior management and bank regulators. The internal Auditor is a change agent within TCM Bank aimed to enhance the control culture of the bank and thereby support senior management decision making.

This position is a Staff Auditor covering internal policies, processes and controls, and adherence with applicable law, rule or regulation. Audit coverage will be executed in accordance with established IA methodology and professional auditing standards.

The successful candidate possesses a functional knowledge of banking processes and appropriate internal controls and works well in a team environment and with employees at all levels within the bank. The successful candidate also possesses a working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and related risks and controls and scopes, leads, and prepares reports related to audits.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Contributes to the development of audit process improvements.
  2. Applies solid understanding of how internal audit collectively integrates with line management and control functions to accomplish the objectives of the function and overall business.
  3. Performs moderately complex audits related to core bank policies and processes, in accordance with bank methodologies and professional standards, including drafting of audit reports, presenting issues to management, and discussing practical solutions.
  4. Complete vendor bids for outsourced audit firms and provide recommendations to EVP/CRO and Audit and Risk Committee.
  5. Manage the outsourced internal audit firms and act as liaison during the engagements.
  6. Complete the annual audit risk assessment and audit plan.
  7. Completes assigned audits within scheduled timeframes.
  8. Recommends appropriate and pragmatic solutions to risk and control issues.
  9. Applies knowledge of key regulations to influence audit scope.
  10. Develops effective line management relationships to ensure strong understanding of the business.
  11. Proactively develops automated routines to help focus audit testing.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in years of industry experience without a degree, or a combination of education and experience required.
  • Banking audit certificates preferred.
  • Intermediate level experience in a related role with experience in business, functional and people management with proven abilities with ownership for issuing to stakeholders’ high-quality deliverables according to strict timetables required.
  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external audit and management required.

The actual compensation offered to the candidate will be finalized at the offer and may be above or below the posted range due to skill level, experience, industry-specific knowledge, education/certifications, etc. The offer rate represents one component of TCM Bank's total compensation package. Employees will also receive several benefits as listed below. Other compensation for this position may include bonus eligibility in the TCM Annual Bonus Incentive Plan.
