Freson Bros., an Alberta-owned and operated fresh food retail chain, invites experienced self-starters to apply for the Accounting Administrator position. Based out of the Freson Bros. Hinton, Alberta, this position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day Accounting and Finance operations of the store and the company.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of operational experience in a full-cycle accounting position
Post-secondary degree in Accounting and/or an Accounting Diploma
Strong knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis and reporting
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Strong organization skills and knowledge of accounting principles
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and accounting software
Roles & Responsibilities:
Arrive at work for the scheduled start time, ready to commence work with appropriate uniform and adherence to the grooming policy.
Import and reconcile weekly sales data from internal systems to ensure accurate financial records.
Record and reconcile eCommerce transactions across platforms.
Analyze and post journal entries for cash overages/shortages.
Prepare and reconcile detailed inventory reports across departments and locations.
Conduct inventory audits.
Post and reconcile physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation and review of Core Financial Statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Maintain and update Capital Asset Schedules and post associated depreciation entries.
Prepare and file GST returns and related reconciliations.
Prepare financial reports.
Monitor and reconcile various General Ledger accounts.
Perform full Accounts Receivable reconciliations and maintain account accuracy and integrity.
Sorting and scanning department purchase invoices.
Apply payments to customer accounts and follow up on overdue accounts.
Monitor and maintain document retention process.
Expense report processing.
Support financial audits by preparing supporting documentation and reconciliations as required.
Daily cash up bank deposits, reconciliations and bank reports, payroll.
Printing, sorting, and entering new product information, along with price verification.
Maintain the accounting system financial database connection with PowerBI to ensure integrity of information.

Salary Range: $48,500 / year to $51,500 / year based on education and experience
