Operations Manager – On Demand Courier (24/7 operations)
Location: Ashburn, Virginia
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Overview
We are hiring an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day on-demand and dedicated courier operations in a high-touch, time-critical environment.
This role is responsible for team leadership, service execution, and operational performance across a 24/7/365 operation. You’ll work cross-functionally with Dispatch, Customer Service, Driver Services and Leadership to ensure reliable service delivery and strong team accountability.
What You’ll Do
- Manage daily courier operations to ensure on-time, high-quality service
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of operations employees
- Create schedules, assign work, and monitor performance
- Resolve escalated service issues and customer concerns
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulations
- Track and analyze operational metrics, reports, and service data
- Partner with leadership to improve processes, efficiency, and scalability
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of operations management experience in a fast-paced transportation logistics environment
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving accountability
- Ability to solve problems quickly and make decisions under pressure
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and managing real-time operations
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time role supporting a 24/7/365 operation (evenings/weekends on-call)
- Fast-paced, high-pressure setting requiring strong focus and adaptability
- Occasional travel to customer sites and company locations
Requirements
- Successful completion of: Background check, Drug screening, HIPAA, OSHA, and Bloodborne Pathogen training, TSA clearance completion.
