Description

The Marlene Meyerson Jewish Community Center of Manhattan (the JCC) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the FP&A Analyst will join a high-performing, collaborative team. In this critical role, the FP&A Analyst will support JCC's financial operations and strategic decision-making processes. Responsibilities include financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, as well as providing support for key business initiatives that drive the organization's operational, development, and financial objectives.

Additionally, the FP&A Analyst will have the opportunity to contribute to and lead financial modeling efforts for the organization's annual five-year operating plan and budget, corporate covenant requirements, and the JCC's plans and objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively participating in the annual budgeting process with the VP of Finance. This involves working closely with various stakeholders throughout the organization to coordinate efforts, consolidate and analyze budget submissions, and prepare comprehensive management reports and presentations that summarize the budget outcomes.
  • Playing a key role in the monthly forecasting process by coordinating with stakeholders, consolidating and analyzing forecasts, and preparing management reports and presentations. These analyses will compare current forecasts to the budget and the prior year, as well as prior forecasts, to provide actionable insights.
  • Preparing a variety of financial analyses utilizing key performance indicators that are specific to the nonprofit industry, providing meaningful insights to support business decisions.
  • Assisting with the integration of newly acquired or developed assets (CRM) into the organization's reporting framework, ensuring consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Developing and managing analytical tools and processes designed to enhance the quality and transparency of financial performance reporting, as well as to facilitate ad hoc reporting needs.
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives. This includes ensuring proposed process changes are effectively implemented, thoroughly documented, and clearly communicated across relevant teams.
  • Work closely with the Development Department on revenue analysis models.
  • Contribute to the development and management of detailed financial models used in the organization's annual operating plans.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or a related field. CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or a similar analytical role, preferably within the nonprofit infrastructure sector.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with FP&A tools and ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Concur, DAXKO CRM, Monday.com, etc.)
  • Experience with business intelligence tools is a plus
  • Professional with a positive attitude and capable of contributing to a dynamic and team-oriented culture.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position. Standard business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional additional hours may be required during month-end close, year-end audit, budget season, or other peak periods.

WORK LOCATION

This position is primarily onsite at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with some limited remote work opportunity. Regular in-person collaboration within the Finance team and with other operational teams is required.

SALARY RANGE

$85,000 – $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
