Description
Job Summary
This position will provide instructional support to the chair, dean, and students.
Essential Functions
- Teach courses offered in the Office Systems and Information Technology programs
- Fulfill faculty roles and responsibilities as outlined in Midland College Policy and Administrative Regulations published in the Faculty and Employee Handbooks
- Demonstrate safe and effective use of all classroom and lab equipment
- Prepare and communicate clear educational objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to the students
- Work with representatives of local businesses to further the program and enhance the instructional resources
- Attend advisory committee meetings
- Participate in recruiting and counseling activities
- Work may require split day and evening work schedule
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus
- This position may require occasional travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Frequently moves equipment or paperwork weighing up to 50 pounds
- Office and classroom setting
- This position may require a split workday and/or an evening work schedule
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent with three years of directly related experience
- Computer literate with experience in the latest version of MS Windows and Microsoft Office
- Familiar with PC hardware, including installation of operating systems, system backup, and "ghosting" of hard drives
- Communication skills with public speaking and organization skills
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College's insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with MAC hardware
