Canonsburg, PA (100% Onsite)
$180K – $200K + Full Benefits + Relocation Assistance

Lead the Architecture Behind Mission-Critical Defense Systems

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff to support advanced undersea and defense systems programs.

This is a highly visible, technical leadership role where you will drive system architecture, guide cross-functional engineering teams, and contribute to the development of next-generation technologies used in national defense and security applications.

If you are a deep technical expert in hardware systems with experience in high-speed electronics, FPGA-based architectures, and complex system integration, this is a rare opportunity to lead at the highest level.

What You'll Do:


  • Lead system architecture and design for complex hardware systems

  • Drive design and integration across:

    • Digital, analog, and power electronics

    • Firmware and embedded systems

  • Conduct and lead:

    • Design trade studies

    • Technical reviews

    • System-level analysis and modeling

  • Architect solutions for:

    • DC/AC and DC/DC systems

    • High-speed data and processing platforms

  • Guide teams through:

    • Circuit design, integration, and verification

    • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting

  • Lead high-impact projects with significant technical and program risk

  • Mentor engineers across multiple disciplines

  • Collaborate with program leadership to manage:

    • Risk mitigation

    • Performance metrics (SPI/CPI, Earned Value, etc.)

  • Drive innovation and contribute to future product roadmaps

What You Bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)

  • 10+ years of experience in advanced hardware/system engineering

  • Strong expertise in:

    • FPGA, SoC, CPLD architectures

    • High-speed digital systems (5+ Gbps)

    • DDR4, flash memory, high-density interconnects

  • Experience with:

    • Analog, digital, and power electronics design

    • System-level integration and debugging

  • Knowledge of:

    • CAN, OpenVPX, PIC-SIG standards

  • Hands-on experience with lab/test equipment:

    • Oscilloscopes, power sources, probes, etc.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and technical documentation skills

Preferred Experience:


  • Architecting complex defense or embedded systems

  • High-frequency magnetics design

  • Circuit design from schematic through layout and BOM

  • Tools such as:

    • OrCAD / PSPICE

    • LTSpice

    • Mathcad, Visio

  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams
