What you’ll be doing
This position is responsible for interacting and engaging with clients. This role will require professional and technical communication while interacting with the organization and government representatives. This individual will provide classification of goods under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) system.

You will be responsible for
- Draft and submit customs ruling requests with CBP, complex tariff classification determinations, reviews and opinions as needed.
- Support classification needs from FTA projects, audit and verification programs.
- Provide guidance and direction in areas of ADD/CVD and PGA requirements.
- Foster a continuous improvement environment by creating and generating internal/ external reports, ensuring SOPs are kept current, analyze productivity, and implement process improvement accordingly.
- Responsible for the overall success of the project(s) assigned ensuring all committed tasks are completed on time and difficulties are resolved in a timely manner.
- Above average written and verbal communication skills.
- Showcase your skills with Microsoft utilizing programs such as Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Identify potential challenges/risks and solve problems efficiently or work with Leaders for a solution.
- Foster a fast-paced culture leading by example in terms of accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
- Effectively prioritize and manage the team multiple and personal tasks to meet KPI's and deadlines.
- To provide the highest level of customer service by leading and mentoring, fostering a positive and productive work environment and resolving escalated issues as needed.
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Transportation/ International Business, or related discipline.
- US Customs broker’s license and/or CCS designation preferred but not required.
- CES (Certified Export Specialist) preferred but not required.
- Minimum 2 years of classification experience with expert knowledge of HTS classification principles.
- Minimum 1 year of experience determining ECCN export classification codes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools with advanced knowledge of Excel and Access (preferred).
- Professional and mature demeanour.
- Good research and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
- Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MEX.
